Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Aitra ("Aitra", "we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the Aitra mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The service

Aitra provides AI‑assisted translation, including (a) on‑screen translation of text you point to using a floating bubble, (b) a manual translation box, and (c) "Face to Face" live voice translation. Translations are produced by third‑party AI models (Google Gemini). Features, limits, and pricing may change over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

3. License and acceptable use

We grant you a personal, limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own lawful, non‑commercial use, subject to these Terms. You agree that you will not:

use the App for any unlawful, harmful, infringing, or abusive purpose;
translate or process content you do not have the right to process, or content that is illegal;
attempt to bypass usage limits, security, app‑integrity checks, or billing;
reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attack the App or our backend, or use it to build a competing service;
use automated means, bots, or scripts to access the service or exhaust its capacity.

4. Purchases: Aitra Pro and minute packs

The App offers an optional auto‑renewing subscription, Aitra Pro. The current benefits, prices, billing period, and any free‑trial length are shown in the App before you purchase. Typical Pro benefits include:

Unlimited on‑screen translation (subject to a reasonable anti‑abuse fair‑use limit);
Face‑to‑Face live voice translation, up to 60 minutes per month;
An ad‑free experience.

4.1 Billing and auto‑renewal

Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription renews automatically at the then‑current price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
If a free trial is offered, unused trial time (if any) is forfeited when you subscribe.
You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in Google Play → Subscriptions.

4.2 Refunds

Purchases are handled by Google Play and are subject to Google Play's refund policies and applicable law. We do not separately process payments and generally cannot issue refunds directly; please use Google Play for refund requests.

4.3 Free tier and ads

Without a subscription, the App provides a limited number of free translations per day. You may optionally watch rewarded ads to earn additional translations, up to a daily maximum. The free tier also includes a one‑time trial of Face‑to‑Face live voice translation; after that trial, Face‑to‑Face requires Aitra Pro or a minute pack.

The App may also show an occasional full‑screen interstitial ad when you turn on the floating translation bar. This never happens the first time you use the bar, and at most once per day. Aitra Pro removes all ads. Limits are intended to keep the service sustainable and may be adjusted.

4.4 Face‑to‑Face minute packs (one‑time purchases)

Separately from the subscription, you may buy minute packs that add Face‑to‑Face live translation minutes to your balance. These are one‑time purchases, not subscriptions — they do not renew and are not charged again.

Minutes are credited to your device's anonymous identifier by our server shortly after purchase, so crediting may take a few seconds.
Purchased minutes do not expire on a fixed date, but the accumulated balance is capped (currently 10 hours) to prevent abuse.
Minutes are tied to the anonymous identifier on your installation. Because the App has no account, they generally cannot be transferred to another device, and they may be lost if you uninstall the App, clear its data, or request deletion of your data.
Aitra Pro's monthly Face‑to‑Face allowance and purchased pack minutes are separate balances.

As with subscriptions, minute packs are sold through Google Play and refunds are handled under Google Play's policies and applicable law (see 4.2).

5. Translations are provided "as is"

Accuracy disclaimer. Machine translation can be imperfect, incomplete, or wrong. Aitra is provided for convenience and general understanding only. Do not rely on Aitra for decisions where errors could cause harm — including medical, legal, financial, safety‑critical, or official/immigration matters. Always verify important translations with a qualified human translator. You are responsible for how you use translated content.

6. Third‑party services

The App relies on third‑party services (including Google Gemini, Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat). Your use of those services through the App is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third‑party services.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its design, branding, and software are owned by Aitra and protected by law. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. You retain any rights you have in the content you translate; you grant us only the limited rights needed to provide the translation you request.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non‑infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or that translations will be accurate or reliable.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aitra and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App (if any) in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and uninstall it. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11) will survive.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict‑of‑laws rules. Mandatory consumer‑protection rights in your country of residence remain unaffected.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
