Aitra — Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026  •  Effective date: July 3, 2026

Short version. Aitra is an on-screen and face-to-face translation app. We do not require an account and we do not collect your name, email, phone number, or contacts. To translate, the specific text or speech you choose to translate is sent securely to our translation service (powered by Google's Gemini models) and returned to you. Image text is read on your device; we do not upload or store your screenshots. We use anonymous identifiers to enforce free usage limits and to verify subscriptions, to credit any Face‑to‑Face minutes you purchase, and (for non‑subscribers) to show ads.

This Privacy Policy explains how Aitra ("Aitra", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Aitra mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

Aitra is an independent application that provides AI‑powered translation of on‑screen text and live, face‑to‑face voice conversations. The App has no user accounts and no login. For any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at aitra@aitraapp.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Content you choose to translate

The content you translate may contain personal or sensitive information depending on what is on your screen or what is spoken. Please only translate content you are comfortable sending to a translation service. Do not use Aitra to translate passwords, payment details, or other secrets.

2.2 Identifiers and technical data (collected automatically)

2.3 Purchases

Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing and managed with RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your credit/debit card number or full payment details. There are two kinds of purchase:

2.4 What we do NOT collect

3. How the Accessibility Service is used

Important

Aitra uses Android's Accessibility Service for one purpose only: to read the text on your current screen at the point you choose, so it can be translated instantly inside any app. The Accessibility Service is not used to collect, log, sell, or share your personal data, and it is not used for advertising or analytics. Text read this way is used solely to perform the translation you requested. You can turn the Accessibility Service on or off at any time in your device's Settings → Accessibility.

4. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content you translate to build advertising profiles about you.

5. Third‑party services (sub‑processors)

To operate Aitra we rely on the following providers, which process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies:

ProviderPurposeData involved
Google Gemini API (Google LLC / Google Cloud)Performs the AI translation of text and speechThe text/audio you choose to translate

Relevant policies: Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy), RevenueCat Privacy Policy (revenuecat.com/privacy), and how Google uses data from apps that use its services (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).

6. Advertising and consent

Free‑tier users may see two kinds of ad, both served by Google AdMob:

If you subscribe to Aitra Pro, all ads are removed. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, we present a Google‑certified consent form (User Messaging Platform) before ads that use personal data are shown, and we respect your choice. You can reset ad personalization at any time through your device's settings and Google's ad settings (adssettings.google.com).

7. Data sharing and disclosure

We share data only as described in this policy: with the sub‑processors in Section 5 to provide the service, and when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Data retention

9. Data security

Data in transit is protected with industry‑standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Our backend keeps AI provider keys server‑side (never in the App), verifies app integrity, and applies rate and budget limits. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. International data transfers

Our backend is hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Some sub‑processors (e.g., Google and RevenueCat) may process data in the United States or other countries. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because Aitra has no account system and uses only anonymous identifiers, we typically hold little or no data that identifies you. To make a request or ask a question, email us at aitra@aitraapp.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

You can control the App's data flows directly on your device: disable the Accessibility Service, revoke the microphone or overlay permissions, reset your advertising ID, or uninstall the App.

12. Children's privacy

Aitra is not directed to children and is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

13. Permissions we request
